New features / enhancements
Upload module - send files, notifications and web links. Version 1.0.3.0 directly connects you with other DocuChannel users allowing you to share unlimited files of any size, send full screen and balloon
tip notifications, web links, RSS feeds and more. Manage distribution through a familiar email-like interface. Track reception of all files - see who got your documents,
when they got your documents and if they were opened. Create guest accounts so your friends and colleagues can send you large files without having their own DocuChannel login.
The upload module requires a premium DocuChannel account (Click here for upgrade information). After installation, right click on the tray icon to access upload features.
Java installation - we've taken the hard work out of downloading and installing Java. No more guessing which version to download or making sure
secure certificates are installed properly. Version 1.0.3.0 handles all of these tasks during account creation or automatically when the software is running.
Automatic updates - you'll never have to visit our web site or manually download software updates again. When we add new features, you'll get them!
Accessibility - if you have difficulty reading or you have a visual impairment, DocuChannel Connect will now read every pop-up and full screen notification to you. Simply enable
the speech module by selecting the Settings button, then Account Settings. See the picture below.
Weather - based on your zip code, DocuChannel Connect now provides weather advisories from the National Weather Service. Advisories automatically show up on your desktop in
balloon tip format. This feature can be enabled and disabled by selecting the Settings button, then Account Settings. See the picture above.
Public Services - like the weather, this is a default subscription providing information about missing children, FBI's most wanted, national news and more.
Digital newspapers - DocuChannel Connect now provides digital newspapers, generated in real time, from any RSS or Podcast feed. Generate your own
newspaper whenever you need the information. You can save your newspaper in PDF format or print it to read at a later time. Information supplied is distributed
by the content providers you have subscribed to. To demo this service, select the Web Links button, select the Public Services Channel, then select any web link
that is labeled "Digital newspaper".
